How to apply Foxpaw-prints vinyl decals!

If you are looking at this you have presumably bought yourself a vinyl decal from Foxpaw-prints!

(If not, or you have no idea what this is, you can find em here btw: Foxpaw print shop)

Applying them is simple enough however can be tricky the first time, so here is how to apply them and some useful tips! The official guide goes as follows:

A graphic showing the application guide, steps are detailed below in screen reader friendly text

1. Start by simply clearing the surface you intend to apply the sticker to. This means removing any dirt or debris that could prevent the sticker from applying

2. Smooth down the application tape, you will want to press down on it a few times to ensure the vinyl is properly stuck to it. Using a loyalty card can be a good method of ensuring the vinyl is properly stuck

3. Slowly peel the application tape of the backing, the goal is to lift the vinyl with it, so go slow and ensure that all of the vinyl has stuck to the tape. If vinyl won't lift off, either press down hard or try to push it up into the tape with you thumbnail

4. You are looking to have all the vinyl on the tape, make sure not to touch the sticky sidetoo much!

5. Stick the application tape to where you want your sticker. Make sure to firmly press it down, ensuring there are no creases or air bubbles

6. Next slowly peel the application tape off and watch as the vinyl sticks to the surface. You will want to do this slowly and ensure that all the vinyl comes off the tape as intended. If the vinyl won't come of the tape, try pressing it down hard, or try to push it off with your thumbnail

Useful Tips

1. Applying heat to the decal once applied will help it adhere better to the surface by melting the vinyl, once its cooled it will be firmly stuck down. This can also be used to help it stick to uneven surfaces or remove creases on curved surfaces! I recommend using a heat gun for this but if you don't have one available, a hair dryer will also work!

2. Go slow, you are much better keeping slow and taking your time to ensure all the vinyl transfers to your desired surface correctly. Otherwise you risk the full design not being present or parts of it being misalligned

3. Using something like a loyalty card is highly recommended before you take the transfer tape off, this helps push out any potential air bubbles and ensures the vinyl is stuck down to the transfer tape
